PermitsObtaining a Land PermitGroote Eylandt archipelago is Aboriginal freehold land and an area of high conservation value. It was declared an Indigenous Protected Area in 2006, part of Australia’s National Reserve System. Visitors MUST have a permit to go off-lease. Written permission via the ALC is required to visit all other areas. Lease areas are: Recreational PermitsApplications for the 2011 Recreation Permits will be available from the Anindilyakwa Land Council offices located at 30 Bougainvillea Drive Alyangula. Please note that new General Conditions shall apply to the 2011 Recreation Permits. The cost of the 2011 Recreation Permits are as follows:
