Companion animal census

Anindilyakwa Land and Sea Ranger Randall Bara and CDP team member Joseph Wurragwagwa have been working with AMRRIC on a companion animal census in Umbakuma and Angurugu.

AMRRIC chief executive Dr Brooke Rankmore said the Anindilyakwa rangers were essential for comprehensive and smooth data collection and the work was done in phenomenal time covering the two communities plus three outstations.

The census data allows AMRRIC, which stands for Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities, to assess the size and condition of a community's dog and cat populations and make tailored animal management recommendations to address any issues.
